Florida Homeschooling... Evaluations and More |
A good evaluator works for the parents, assisting them in meeting legal requirements and in supporting them when districts overstep their bounds." |
The Florida Dept of Education is looking for input from parents and others, including homeschooling parents, on how to reduce regulation of public schools. See the notice below: June 22, 2023 Parents and staff, Earlier this year, the Florida Legislature passed House Bill 1. https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1/BillText/er/PDF Included in this bill was a requirement that the Florida Department of Education (Department) develop and submit to the Governor and Legislature a set of recommendations to reduce regulation of public schools. The law also requires the Department to consider input from teachers, superintendents, administrators, home educators, and other entities. To solicit and collect suggestions, the Department has set up an online survey. The survey will be open until August 15, 2023. If you are interested in submitting a suggestion, please use the link provided here. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FloridaHB1 You can submit as many suggestions as you like. Please try to be as specific as possible when submitting a suggestion. Thank you. This was shared from an email sent out by the Palm Beach County School District, but it applies to all throughout Florida. Feel free to share it with other Floridians who may have suggestions to share.
