Note: Appointments are typically scheduled no more than 2 months in advance.
After the form is sent, please check your email, including your spam folder, for a response offering an appointment time for confirmation. October-April a response should be received within about two or three business days. May-September a response may take as many as 9 or 10 business days. This option is only available to those who wish to come to us in Wellington, Palm Beach County, FL After submitting our form,
a payment page should appear. If you have any questions, please use the contact us options below. Note: During the In-Person Evaluation, the parent will share records of the child's learning titles of reading materials, a log of educational activities, and samples of materials used by or generated by the student. (Records are NOT shared in advance for in-person evaluations.) The student should be present to listen in and/or join in the discussion during the evaluation. If you would rather share digital information in advance via emailed photos or scans or a link or such, use our Online/Email option instead of an in-person evaluation. If you wish to pay through the Gardiner (aka Family Empowerment Scholarship: Unique Abilities), include the Gardiner ID number in the comments box (above) so we can directly bill through FES:UA for Legacy (and then skip the payment window that appears later) OR the parent can directly invoice our fee through the Legacy or EMA systems and ask us for an invoice that you can then upload to the FES site OR pay us directly and ask for a receipt to give to the FES:UA for reimbursement |
For an evaluation done in person, use the form on this page.
With this option, an appointment is made--usually for before or after a homeschool event such as a park date for our local homeschool support group; only a few such appointments are available. The main purpose of the evaluation is to share some of your records (aka portfolio). Do not send records in advance unless you want to switch to an online/email evaluation option instead. Each student must be present during the evaluation to hear discussion about the student's progress. The student can participate in the discussion actively or can sit and listen; the evaluation will be similar to a parent-teacher conference in which the parent is showing off what the child has been learning, while the student soaks in the information. Note: We do not issue refunds if parents double-book with another evaluator. If you start an evaluation with another evaluator, do not schedule a second evaluation, with us, unless willing to pay us. If worried about missing a deadline, consider emailing the district to let them know that you are working with an evaluator and will get the evaluation to them ASAP. Evaluators can be very busy between May-Sept. Check your email carefully--look in your spam folder--to be sure no communication has been missed.
