In-Person Portfolio Review Evaluation Option

We recommend scheduling via one of our other options if in a hurry

1. Limited options

Most of our evaluations are done online using our online forms and email. A number are done using video calls instead.

We do a very limited number of evaluations in person. We typically do them while out at events that we plan to be at--before or after a park date for our local homeschool support group or such--and may have to be rescheduled if anyone is sick or in case of inclement weather.

2. Request an Appointment

• Student must be present for the evaluation.

• Must be very flexible as to date and time as we have limited availability

3. Provide Payment

• $50 for first child
• $20 more for each additional child evaluated at same time
  
• Need the evaluation in a hurry? Use our online/email RUSH option instead
• Pay via PayPal, or request an invoice to use with debit or credit card, or bring a check or money order or cash

4. Check Your Email & RSVP

• We'll email an invitation to an appointment. We have very few in-person appointment options.
  
• Check your spam folder if you don't see our email.
• Most of the year we usually respond within a few days to offer an appointment option; during the summer, it may take a week or two.

6. After the in-person evaluation

• We typically email evaluation forms and optional portfolio review forms. If you want them given to you at the end of the evaluation instead, request that option in advance.
  
• Parent sends evaluation forms to the district as per Florida law--we'll provide directions and link to get district home education contact information to get the form to the right place; emailing records to you can make sending them to the district easier.
• Forms are usually emailed to parent by the next business day.
• Continuing Support: If there are any issues with the evaluation forms and/or the district, let us know so we can help you fix the issues.

5. Day of the Evaluation

• Bring with you the materials to show us--this is basically a chance to have a show-and-tell to show off what your child has been learning. Showing is the most important part as we need to see records.
• NO materials are sent before the evaluation--all will be shown to us during the evaluation.

• The Parent usually shows the materials with student present.

(though in the busy season from May to September it may take a week or two).
